Finding My Joy

Finding My Joy

Sunday mornings deep in the meditation of culling weeds while feeling the grace of the beautiful flowers around me.

My gardens express connection and life and I feel full with gratitude when I’m surrounded by them. The sacred silence of an early morning.

I recognize the sound of a Pileated woodpecker deep in the woods, then the thrilled voice of another as it flies to the top of the old electrical pole to tap out it’s response.

A hummingbird flies in the garden sprinkler, another is fluttering a bath in the moisture of the tall columbine leaves. There’s a distinctive yip of excitement when finding the scent trail of a rabbit, from Lucy, one of our miniature schnauzers, and a reply from her half sister Velvet.

This is my time of Self Care going deep into the presence of my own being. Sharing myself and acknowledging everything around me. A purposefulness. A gift.
